Artist's Comments

This is for :iconmichaelcrichlow:'s Drawing Night he has going on. I wasn't able to do the last one he did because of cold, at least I can do this one since I'm feeling a bit better.

The journal entry is here: [link]

This is the first drawing since I did the Ahsoka sketch which was a good 2 or 3 months ago. Had a bit of trouble with the face. As well as the hands. But like I said, first sketch in a while. Came out pretty decent with a few touch ups from Photostudio to remove some smudges.

Done completely with a F pencil.

You seem to have a good understanding of the basic forms and shapes in the pose, though the proportions and composition of the figure are not right. Her whole figure seems to be a bit compressed and doesn't flow (from head-to-torso-hips-legs) naturally. I think the main source of that is the angle of her neck and the way it connects with her shoulders. Exercises like this are great practice though - keep at it!

No need to apologize, there's no need to compromise.

yeah, though i'm just a bit rusty from the lack of drawing. That and I was just having a horrible day with my sketch. Still it came out better then the first. And thanks.

Basic forms and poses are easy to understand but when you actually do it, sometimes it just doesn't always work for you. I think the head from the start just blow the proportions out in the first place. I was more focus on the form and pose that proportion just went in one eyes and out the other. But yeah, I agree, it is great practice. Which is why I did it.

Nice one. I like the way you drew her face.

The pose is good and the curves are here. The only thing may be her left arm which is a bit to long.
:iconbrokenfantasy:
Thanks.

Yeah, After it was pointed out I noticed it was a bit long. Maybe the angle of the arm threw off the length or something.

I always have problems with faces and hands. I think that you did a great job! You keep improving. :)

Thank you. I still don't know why hands are so hard for me. I just don't know. It's strange.
